Ivythorn Manor Farm
Home Page
Two of our most valuable assets. A good tractor and a good horse.

Ivythorn Manor Farm is run by Peter and Jen Rood. It lies between Somerton and Street on the southern slopes of the Polden Ridge extending down to the edge of the Somerset Levels.

The farm is just under 300 acres in size and is dedicated to beef production with a small acreage of arable land used to grow cereals to feed the cattle. A limited amount of milling wheat is also grown for the home market.

A suckler herd of approximately 120 cows are kept and these are bred to Aberdeen Angus, Limousin and Belgian Blue bulls, with most of the progeny being sold as stores for further fattening. The remainder are fattened on the levels' lush grassland to supply customers through our boxed beef scheme.
